Basic information about PCPM
We deliver humanitarian and development aid
PCPM strives to provide assistance to the victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters, primarly by channeling the assistance originating in Poland.
To this end PCPM prepares and implementing humatniarian and developmet aid projects, focusing on the following sectors:
- Education, including:
o Construction, upgrading and equipping of school facilities (in Sudan, Zambia and Tajikistan),
o Organizing vocational training for youth in countries, where post-elementary education is not widely available (Sudan),
o Educating school-age children how to protect themselves from sudden-onset natural disasters, such as earthquakes (Tajikistan),
o Supporting education cluster coordination (Tajikistan).
- Health, with the special attention to the needs of women and children, including:
o Providing medical and post-curative assistance to the women suffering from obstetric fistula (Sudan),
o Supporting and equipping primary health care centers (Zambia),
o Providing material and psychosocial assistance to children affected by wars and natural disasters (Georgia).
- Livelihoods and rural development, including:
o Increasing productivity and value-added of agriculture (Palestine, Tanzania),
o Improving quality of life in the rural areas, among others by installing solar lighting in disadvantaged locations (Sudan),
o Undertaking other pro-development measures.
- Disaster risk reduction (DRR), including:
o Capacity-building of the local authorities, tasked with disaster risk reduction (Georgia),
o Educating school-age children how to protect themselves from sudden-onset natural disasters, such as earthquakes (Tajikistan),
o Sharing Poland’s experiences in disaster risk reduction and functioning of emergency response systems (Georgia, Tajikistan).
PCPM (Polskie Centrum Pomocy Międzynarodowej) is a non-governmental organization and a charity registered in Poland. Its legal status is based on the 1984 Polish law on foundations and the 2003 law on charities and volunteerism. PCPM has been registered as a charity in Polish National Court Registry (KRS) under the number 0000259298 and as such is entitled to receive voluntary tax contributions from Polish nationals. Odpowiadając na apel humanitarny Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych w sprawie potrzeby poprawy warunków żywieniowych w obozie dla uchodźców w Dadaab, PCPM we współpracy z Fundacją dla Somalii rozpoczyna obecnie realizację projektu dostarczenia zestawów do podgrzewania i gotowania posiłków wraz z zapasem paliwa stałego dla 4800 rodzin uchodźców. Projekt współfinansowany jest z dotacji Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych RP przeznaczonej na pomoc dla ludności cierpiącej wskutek klęski głodu w Afryce Wschodniej. Więcej informacji nt projektu.
